How we verify what we publish

Last reviewed 2026-Aug-20

Why this page exists

Most health pages you find online are written by someone selling the thing they are writing about. We sell referrals, so we have our own bias, and the only useful response to that is to show our work.

This page tells you where our facts come from, what we refuse to use, how often we check, and what we have already got wrong.

Where our facts come from, in order

We use the highest quality source available for each claim, in this order. If a lower tier disagrees with a higher one, the higher one wins.

1. United States law and regulation. Statutes and the Code of Federal Regulations. If a rule governs something, we quote the rule.

2. Federal agency documents. FDA, DEA, CMS, HHS and FTC publications, warning letters, and public court records. We link the original document, not somebody's summary of it.

3. State law and state licensing boards. Because a great deal of what you can and cannot get through telehealth depends on where you live.

4. Peer reviewed medical research. We prefer randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses over single studies, and we say which one we are quoting.

What we do not use

We do not cite blog posts, forum threads, Reddit, press releases, marketing pages, or content written by an AI. We do not cite a company's claims about its own product as evidence that the claim is true.

Where we mention a company's marketing language, we quote it as marketing and we say so.

How we write about companies

We name practices, not people. If a regulator has published a document about something, we quote the document and link it. What we will not do is give you our own opinion about whether a named company is good or bad, because that is not evidence, it is just another voice in a market that already has too many.

How often we check

Every page carries a Last reviewed date at the top. We re-check every page in the first week of January, April, July and October.

We do this because this subject changes faster than almost any other in health. The rules on compounded weight loss medication changed four times between late 2024 and 2026. A page that was accurate in March can be wrong by June. If a page here is stale, the date will tell you.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it, and we say so here with the date. We do not quietly edit and move on.

  • 2026-Aug-20. We removed the word "vetted" from this site. We had described our partner brands as vetted and high quality. We had not published any criteria for what that meant, and we had run no process that would justify it. The word is gone from every page until we can show you exactly what a review consists of.
  • 2026-Aug-20. We removed star ratings and review counts from our partner listings. One partner was shown with a five star rating and the words "verified patient reviews" with no source, no count and no date. Another showed a review score we had not verified ourselves. Both are gone.
  • 2026-Aug-20. We corrected how we describe our own network. Our site said we compare your needs "against dozens of vetted telehealth brands." We work with a small number of partners, not dozens. The page now says so.
  • 2026-Aug-20. We fixed a dead end. If a partner could not serve your state, our results page said "other partners may be shown below" when in some categories no other partner would appear. It now tells you plainly that we do not have a partner for that category in your state.
  • 2026-Aug-20. We stopped celebrating. Our results page fired confetti when it showed you matches for a prescription medication. That was the wrong tone for a medical decision and it is gone.

What we are

We are a referral service. Partner brands pay us a referral fee when you connect with them, and every partner we show is a paying partner. We are not a doctor, a pharmacy, or an insurer, and nothing here is medical advice.
